Academic Medal Programs

Distinguished Undergraduate Researcher
LSU Discover
The LSU Distinguished Undergraduate Researcher designation recognizes the achievements of outstanding undergraduates who participate in a track of educational and research activities leading to a final presentation or publication to a faculty project panel. Through LSU Discover, I have gained knowledge on every step of the research and publication process, and was afforded the opportunity to participate with my own works in professional conferences as a student researcher. As a medal candidate, I am held to a distinguished level of professionalism and integrity by fellow student researchers and faculty advisors, which has pushed my academic works beyond the average undergraduate level.

Distinguished Communicator (DC)
Communication Across The  Curriculum (CxC)
The Distinguished Communicator Program through LSU CxC sharpens student's communication skills in 4 major modes: Visual, Spoken, Written, and Technological with a final public portfolio to display the culmination of perfecting these skills. As a DC Medal candidate, I have utilized opportunities through CxC workshops, formal communication intensive certified coursework, and this final portfolio to demonstrate communication levels indicative of a DC Medal recipient. These skills are long lasting and will forever shape my future academic and professional interactions.
