Leadership Experience
Student Linguistics Association (SLA)
Organization President (2019-2021)
SLA is a student ran linguistics club at LSU, and was founded to expand student involvement in the field outside of the classroom. As the president of SLA, I am responsible for recruiting, member outreach, and facilitating semester research presentation events, such as LSU's Linguistics Meet-up Day alongside the interdepartmental program in linguistics faculty. Leading research events such as Linguistics Meet-up allows student researchers a formal setting to rehearse and gain critique on future conference presentations, and grants opportunities to grow among fellow student linguists. SLA promotes community, knowledge exchange, and research support among student members and linguistics faculty. Through this position, I have strengthened my interpersonal communication skills, project management, and research presentation abilities.

Linguistics Ambassador
LSU Linguistics
Linguistics Ambassadors are student representatives of the Interdepartmental Program in Linguistics, and are responsible for recruiting student for the undergraduate minor in linguistics. During my tenure in the position, I represented the program at LSU community events events such as LSU Fall Fest (pictured right), and served as a liaison between students and linguistics faculty through attending faculty meetings to table student interests and concerns. This position allowed myself and fellow ambassadors to gain faculty connections, branding and representation skills, and create relationships among faculty and students in neighboring departments such as Anthropology, Communication Disorders, and Foreign Languages.
